Oral Presentations

Here is a link to the Oral Presentation schedule for 12/3 and 12/5. As you think about your presentation, keep these guidelines in mind:

• Your presentation should take about 5-7 minutes. Make sure you have enough content to fill that time without going over the limit.
• These presentations are informal, so no PowerPoints or notecards are required. If having a PowerPoint helps keep your presentation organized, however, go for it!
• As you explain your final project to your audience, keep these elements in mind:
  • Why did you choose to work with your topic this semester? How does it matter to you and why?
  • How have you addressed your topic in our various assignments this semester?
  • What was your specific purpose or goal for your final project, and who was your intended audience?
  • Explain your composing process and rhetorical choices for the final project. As you do so, point out specific moments form your project as evidence of your claims.
  • If you intend to move forward with this project after the semester ends, explain how you’ll be taking on that work.
• Remember that you will not only be evaluated as a presenter; you will also be evaluated as an audience member. We will discuss guidelines for asking questions and participating actively during your peers’ presentations on our first presentation date.

Final Portfolio

Here are the guidelines for the Final Portfolio.

• The Portfolio should be 75% done (at least) by Monday, December 10th. We will be peer reviewing Portfolios and Narratives in class that day.
• Your completed portfolio should be turned in no later than Wednesday, December 12th at 5pm. No late Portfolios will be accepted. Portfolios must be completed in order to pass the course.

Final Reflective Narrative

Here are the guidelines for the final Reflective Narrative.

• The Reflective Narrative should be integrated into your Final Portfolio.
• The due dates for this are the same as the Portfolio.

Class Schedule

We will not have class on Wednesday, December 12th.

• Instead, I will be available to meet individually with you in my office 10am – 3pm. This time period is optional. Just stop by if and when you can if you need last-minute help or would like me to look through your portfolio before you turn it in officially.
