In Class Work, 9/5/18
I. Blog URLs
Please post your name and the URL of the homepage of your blog in this Google document.
II. Reading Anzaldua rhetorically
Get into groups of three. Take a look at the questions Lessner and Craig pose on pp. 130-131. Think back to your reading of Anzaldua, and answer the questions.
III. Focused freewriting – What’s Your Problem?
Lessner and Craig list “focused freewriting” as one of their writing exercises for invention (or for coming up with ideas). For these authors, focused freeqwriting is freewriting with a specific idea or goal that we head towards. So get out a piece of paper, or open a Google doc in your in class writing folder. We’re going to freewrite for about 15 minutes (that means no stopping to think or rewrite – just keep going). Think about the following questions:
- What problems am I thinking about right now?
- What is going on in the world at the moment that is bothering me? How am I connected to that issue – directly or indirectly?
- What issues matter to me? What communities do I feel closest to?
- Why do those issues or communities matter to me?
- What issues within those communities are manageable for me to tackle in this class?
- What do I want my composing to do about this issue?

the most important part of the story is the middle; does it carry through and does have the endurance to carry on throughout the time of the story. if a story is very lull me when in the middle then it is a weak one
